Upon loading a picture or video, Picstagrab automatically performs a search using Tineye and Google image-search to identify duplicate content. Users can review the search results to determine if the picture has been "stolen" or not. It is important to note that Picstagrab does not make any assumptions about the found duplicates.

Before reposting a picture, users have the ability to add a watermark from their own collection. They can also manage their watermark collection by adding or removing available watermarks. Additionally, users can select any picture available in their camera-roll to use as a watermark. While adding a watermark, they have the option to reposition, resize, change the opacity, and remove white or black backgrounds from the watermark, allowing for a transparent background.
